About Us (…that really should be “About Me”…)

I’m just a guy who loves Jeeps. I belong to my local Jeep club, offroad when I can, and my last Jeep was a ratty, old, 1989 Comanche. Prior to that, a 1994 Cherokee dripped in the driveway. Both were lifted at least 4 inches and had 31" tires, etc., etc.

The Comanche actually had a 4.5" RockKrawler lift up front, a SOA in the rear and Bilstein shocks. Excellent, excellent truck offroad.

Part of the reason for this site is to generate some money to keep this ancient rig running - I hate rust…and slowly but surely it’s all being cut off and welded up again. It just takes time & money.

In 2004 I ran for club President - lost by one vote… That was fine, though, as it allowed me to start a non-profit group (comprised of Jeep owners) which volunteers it’s time & Jeeps to drive doctors & nurses into the local hospitals when storms shut our city down.

Last winter we ran over 600 local health care workers around town during 4 different call-outs. Our volunteers KICK-ASS! We got great TV coverage for our club and a commendation from the Provincial Legislature.

Here’s that little endevour - Severe Weather Assitance Team

Bottom line is I’m willing to do the work to make sure our community values our Jeep club.

This website really started when I got sick of seeing new folks in posting forums constantly told to “Go Search” when they asked questions.

I mean, weren’t we all in that position once? What’s the big deal about just answering the damn question?

So I started collecting information, writing articles, etc. It evolved into the 300+ pages that is ajeepthing.com.

What else…

Oh yeah - I’ve written a few articles on Jeep events and Land Rover events for CAN4X4 magazine and the old JeepWorld magazine in the UK.

And there you have it - I’m a regular guy like most other Jeepers. I have a wife, three dogs, like beer and am generally a car-nut.
